Qiangyu Tent Structures, a Chinese manufacturer of large-span tent and marquee structures, has signed an export contract with a Dominican Republic client — referred to here as Mr. A — for three aluminum-framed storage tents. Each unit spans 25 meters and runs 50 meters long, for a combined footprint of roughly 3,750 square meters. The structures will be used to store farm produce and imported goods in transit.
The deal marks Qiangyu's latest move into the Caribbean and Latin American market, following a string of projects across the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia.
Mr. A runs a logistics and warehousing operation in the Dominican Republic. His existing storage space was running out of capacity, and he needed something that could go up fast and hold up against the region's heat, humidity and frequent storms. While researching suppliers online, he came across Qiangyu's website, looked through the company's product range and past export work, and sent in an inquiry.
From there, Qiangyu's export team didn't just hand over a standard quote. They worked through Mr. A's site conditions and local weather patterns, then put together a custom spec — wind-load rating, corrosion-resistant aluminum framing, a flame-retardant and waterproof PVC-coated fabric — and went back and forth with him over several rounds of calls, drawings and pricing before things moved forward.
Before committing, Mr. A flew to China and visited several well-known tent manufacturers across Shandong, Guangdong and Jiangsu, comparing them on production scale, build quality, pricing and after-sales support.
At Qiangyu's facility, he walked the production floor — aluminum extrusion, steel frame welding and assembly, fabric cutting and stitching — and asked to see the quality control process: incoming material checks, load-bearing tests, waterproofing and flame-retardant testing on the fabric. He also reviewed paperwork, including export licensing, CE certification and ISO 9001, and looked at case studies from past storage-tent projects in the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia.
After visiting the other factories, he came back to Qiangyu.
"I went to a few large operations, but Qiangyu's production was the most consistent, and their quality checks were the most thorough I saw," Mr. A said. "They also clearly understood what our climate would do to the structure over time. That's what made the decision for us."
With the technical details settled and the factory visit behind them, both sides signed the contract. Neither party is disclosing the exact figure, though a Qiangyu representative described it as one of the larger orders the company has booked for this type of project in the region.
"Winning an order like this isn't about any one conversation," the representative said. "It's the whole process — working through the technical requirements properly upfront, then having the factory hold up when someone actually walks through it. Mr. A looked at several other suppliers before choosing us, so this is a real vote of confidence in both our product and how we work."
Production is expected to wrap up and ship within 60 days of signing. Qiangyu will also handle installation guidance and after-sales support through to completion.
Qiangyu has been expanding its footprint across the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and now Latin America in recent years. This contract gives the company its first real foothold in the Caribbean and adds to a growing list of reference projects the team can point to as it pursues more business across the region.
Qiangyu Tent Structures designs, manufactures and exports large-span tent structures for warehousing and logistics, events, agriculture, disaster relief and sports venues. The company runs its own production, quality control and international shipping operations, and has exported to more than 30 countries to date.
What climates can Qiangyu's storage tents handle? The tents use corrosion-resistant aluminum framing and flame-retardant, waterproof PVC-coated fabric, with wind-load ratings that can be adjusted for local conditions — including the heat, humidity and storm exposure common across the Caribbean, the Middle East and Africa.
How do overseas buyers vet Qiangyu before placing an order?Qiangyu hosts factory visits for international clients, covering production lines, quality testing and past export projects. In this case, the Dominican Republic client toured several well-known Chinese tent manufacturers before settling on Qiangyu.
How long does it typically take from first inquiry to signed contract? It varies by project, but generally covers requirements scoping, design, pricing and — often — a factory visit. This particular deal took about three months from the initial website inquiry to signing.
What is this type of storage tent used for?Common applications include farm produce storage, logistics transit warehousing, import/export goods storage, and covered storage yards for raw materials — all benefiting from fast setup, structural durability and the ability to be relocated or reconfigured.
